Harsh: Texas High School Girls Basketball Coach Fired After A 100 - 0 Blowout Win! (For Crushin Their Oppenants)
DALLAS — The coach of a Texas high school basketball team that beat another team 100-0 was fired Sunday, the same day he sent an e-mail to a newspaper saying he will not apologize "for a wide-margin victory when my girls played with honor and integrity."
Kyle Queal, the headmaster for Covenant School, said in The Dallas Morning News online edition that he could not answer if the firing was a direct result of coach Micah Grimes' e-mail disagreeing with administrators who called the blowout "shameful."
Queal did not immediately answer phone messages or e-mail from The Associated Press.
On its Web site last week, Covenant, a private Christian school, posted a statement regretting the outcome of its Jan. 13 shutout win over Dallas Academy. "It is shameful and an embarrassment that this happened. This clearly does not reflect a Christlike and honorable approach to competition," said the statement, signed by Queal and board chair Todd Doshier.
Grimes, who has been criticized for letting the game get so far out of hand, made it clear in the e-mail Sunday to the newspaper that he does not agree with his school's assessment.
"In response to the statement posted on The Covenant School Web site, I do not agree with the apology or the notion that the Covenant School girls basketball team should feel embarrassed or ashamed," Grimes wrote in the e-mail, according to the newspaper. "We played the game as it was meant to be played. My values and my beliefs would not allow me to run up the score on any opponent, and it will not allow me to apologize for a wide-margin victory when my girls played with honor and integrity."
Bun B will be releasing the final UGK album titled For Life this year

The Houston bred rapper revealed to MTV Friday (January 23) that the album will be released via Jive Records on March 31st.
Pimp C, the other half of UGK, died from sleep apnea and an overdose of Promethazine/Codeine syrup in a Los Angeles hotel in 2007.
"This will be a good bookend to the legacy of myself and Pimp," Bun-B said. "And definitely take not just the group, but Pimp C, to true legend and iconic status."
Bun B revealed that the project may not feature any outside collabos and only boast 12 tracks.
The first single from the set, Da Game Been Good to Me”, is currently circulating online [Listen]. A video for the track will be released soon.
Update: Suspect In Murder Of Eddy Curry's Ex-Girlfriend In Custody, Son Found Covered In Blood

As reported earlier, Curry's ex-girlfriend Nova Henry, 24, was found shot dead along with her 9-month-old daughter, Ava, at their Chicago apartment on Saturday evening (January 24).
http://thisis50.com/profiles/blogs/eddy-currys-exgirlfriend
Curry's son, Nehemiah, was found in the apartment unharmed but family members revealed to The Chicago Sun Times yesterday (January 26) that the boy was found sitting on the couch covered in his mother's blood after trying to wake her.
"[He] was alone. We don't know for how long," the boy's aunt told The Sun Times. "All he's doing is crying for his mama. That's what's killing me dead."
The suspect in the slayings is a man who Henry had been previously dating. He was arrested at local motel Sunday and is currently in custody.
Family members claim that the man had threatened Henry repeatedly and she had filed a restraining order against him.
"My family was trying to hide her," Henry's step uncle told The Sun Times. "This [man] was very unstable, had an anger problem. [He] was coming into the neighborhood, making threats, some pretty serious threats. He was dangerous He sugared her [car's gas] tank. He made life threats."
Curry, who is married with four other children, was in Philadelphia when the murder occurred.
Family members revealed that Henry was convinced that Curry was Ava's father and had filed papers against him in court. Curry, who was supporting Nehemiah, is not a suspect in the slayings.
Curry has had a trying time in the past few months. The basketball player has only played one game this season due to a knee injury and his former driver sued him two weeks ago claiming that Curry made sexual advances towards him and flashed a gun at him twice.

Tragedy Strikes Eddy Curry Once Again

The mother of Knicks center Eddie Curry’s 3-year-old son and her infant daughter were found murdered at her South Side Chicago apartment on Saturday, according to various reports. A man indentifying himself as Henry’s uncle say they believe they know the who the gunman is. “She had a stalker boyfriend,” he told WMAQ in Chicago. “And she had a restraining order against him and she was trying to avoid all this.”

More Violence At Virginia Tech
This time, however, the violence was isolated to a single fatal attack.
A yet unidentified female grad student was stabbed to death in the cafe at the Graduate Life Center Wednesday night around 7:00pm. A revamped emergency alert system ordered students to stay put while police investigated the incident.
Minutes later, authorities arrested Chinese graduate student Haiyang Zhu and recovered the knife believed to be the murder weapon. Zhu was charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bail.
It is believed that the victim knew her alleged assailant.
An hour later, students were allowed to resume activity.
Our thoughts go out to the victim's family and friend and the entire V.T. campus.

WTF?? 2 YEAR OLD BOY Just Released From Jail in Zimbabwe

According to the NY Post:
HARARE, Zimbabwe - A 2-year-old boy has been released from jail after being held for weeks with his parents in what the Zimbabwean opposition calls a crackdown on dissent.
Nigel Mutemagau was released to other relatives Tuesday after the judge said there was no reason to hold him, defense lawyer Charles Kwaramba said.
The boy's parents, oppositionparty members Collen Mutemagau and Violet Mupfuranhehwe, are accused of plotting to overthrow
President Robert Mugabe. At a court hearing Wednesday, at which Mutemagau and Mupfuranhehwe appeared without Nigel in their arms for the first time since they were detained, Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausika ordered that all the defendants be taken to a hospital to investigate charges they were tortured.
Similar orders have been ignored.
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change said Wednesday the charges against the boy's parents and six other defendants are "trumped up." The party said those detained - even Nigel - were abused by security agents.
Kwaramba said Nigel was hit as he and his parents were taken from their home, and that fact would be included in a dossier of evidence showing that detainees were beaten and tortured.
Police and prosecutors have denied such mistreatment.
Nigel and his parents were among a detained group that included prominent peace activist Jestina Mukoko, whose whereabouts had been unknown for weeks. Police denied they were being held.
The activists were finally brought to court Dec. 24, the same day state media reported they were accused in a plot widely dismissed as a fabrication. They have yet to be formally charged.
The defendants are accused of attempting to recruit anti-government fighters to train in neighboring Botswana.
Zimbabwean officials have repeatedly made such accusations, which Botswana and the opposition party have denied. South African President Kgalema Motlanthe dismissed the Zimbabwean allegations, saying the Southern African Development Community, the main regional bloc, opened an investigation when Mugabe's government first raised them, but "we never believed" them.
Activists fear the Mugabe government could use the charges as an excuse to declare a state of emergency and withdraw from powersharing talks.
A power-sharing deal signed in September calls for Mugabe to remain president and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai to take the new post of prime minister. The agreement has stalled over a dispute about who would control key Cabinet posts - and over charges Mugabe has stepped up harassment of dissidents.
Cholera, meanwhile, continued to spread because of Zimbabwe's crumbling health-care system and water supply infrastructure. The death toll from cholera in Zimbabwe has risen to 2,106, with more than 40,448 people infected since the outbreak began in August.
The United Nations and others caution the official figures may be far lower than actual cases because many Zimbabweans are dying before they can reach medical help.
Black Wall Street's X.O. Addresses Bishop Lamont Fight -- Claims Rapper Bit Him

From BallerStatus.com -- As previously reported, an altercation ensued between Aftermath recording artist Bishop Lamont and Black Wall Street's X.O., as a result of back-n-forth disses between the pair over the past few months.
On Friday (January 16), the two rappers bumped heads during a Jim Jones performance at Club 740 in Los Angeles. According to an eye witness, both rappers knuckled up one on one, and in the end, Bishop got the best of the new member of The Game's Black Wall Street.
"He looked worse than De La Hoya," the source said of X.O., referring to the recent beating Oscar took against Manny Pacquiao.
Now, just days after the event, X.O. has released a statement to BallerStatus.com, claiming the fight less serious than most expected.

"That sh** was fun, but that n**** pussy," the rapper said. "All that human growth hormone he taking, and all he did was bite me and scratch my face?"
The aftermath of the fight left X.O. with a nasty bite mark on his ribs (pictured above).
As far as alleged video footage of the altercation surfacing, X.O. responded, "I got my popcorn ready, you better edit out the biting scene faggots."
The Black Wall Street camp said that Bishop and his entourage quickly vacated the premises after the fight was broken up by security, while X.O. left on his own accord after being dosed with pepper spray.
Attempts for statement from Bishop Lamont's camp were unsuccessful at press time.

DJ DRAMA ASSAULTED AT THE ATLANTA PREMIER OF NOTORIOUS BY CTE (YOUNG JEEZY'S CREW)

I got word that DJ Drama from the Aphilliates got man-handled at the premier of Notorious in Atlanta on Monday night by Young Jeezy’s CTE crew. Yes, the beef is apparently not over. I’m hearing Jeezy was not present- rather it was the goons getting rowdy. You might have remembered LA the Darkman, president of the Apphiliates and Roccett (USDA/CTE) speaking their peace on what happened at the Dirty awards in the ATL this past fall when a similar physical altercation broke out. It seemed as if there was some unfinished business- at least on Roccett’s end who was offering to youtube a fair fight between the two that started the melay- for the world to see and judge. Was this what they had in mind? Not sure how much truth this rumor holds so don’t jump out the window yet, Drama fans.
LA the Darkman says that “they’re good” so that’s good to hear…I’ll probably get a chance to speak to him so more about the incident. Maybe even get some inside info one why Don Cannon left the Aphilliates and went to DTP.
I’ll keep you updated.

Update on Maino slapping Yung Berg in ATL nightclub!
MAINO SLAPS THE SHIT OUT OF YUNG BERG FOR TALKING RECKLESS IN NYC NIGHT CLUB!!!!
Shouts to BoobBerry.
I'm hearing that Maino slapped the shit out of Yung Berg last night at a NYC club (I think it was Prime). DJ Self was spinning hot music and Yung Berg was spinning hot garbage, apparently. Onlookers claim that Berg was talking shit to the wrong dude- and approached Maino with "I heard you were talking reckless." People are saying that the smack was so loud- you could hear it over the music. LMAO. Does he not know that Maino is a monster and is looking for a reason to yap somebody? Since this is the age of youtube- I’m sure we’ll see some action.
Poor Berg- he just recovered his chain and now he’s got more damage control to handle. Literally. I don't even understand what rationale or logic Berg had in his head while he was contemplating his moves. Unless he was inside the club with 300 Spartans- I don't see why Berg would step to Maino. Seems elementary. I'll be back with an UPDATE!!!

DJ AM And Travis Barker Critically Injured In Private Plane Crash In South Carolina

HOUSTON COMES TOGETHER - RAPPERS, RADIO PERSONALITIES, BALL PLAYERS AND CITY OFFICIALS TEAM UP
![]()
Houston, TX - With cars lining up all over the city full of people looking for the basic necessities to weather the week-long power and water outtage courtesy of Hurricane Ike, Houston's entertainment community and city officials are coming together to bring relief to the city's citizens in need. As Houston power companies work 24/7 to get the lights back on, things like bottled water, ice and a meal of any kind can literally mean survival to many.
Partnering with radio stations like 97.9 The Box and93.3 KPTY; who have been critical in getting the word out to those seeking relief, FEMA and Houston City Officials, Houston's music and sports communities are all rolling up their sleeves and either setting up relief PODS (points of distribution), like the Amobi Okoye Foundation, or showing up to help hand out the water, ice and military MRE's to those that have had no power and/or water in the week following Ike's devastating landfall last Friday night.
97.9 The Box's Madd Hatta and team rolling up their sleeves to pitch in
93.3 KPTY's Crisco Kidd and Mayor Bill White pitching in at the Amobi Okoye Foundation relief POD
They say that politics make unlikely bedfellows and it was indeed a strange site to see rappers like Chamillionaire andTrae Tha Truth and his entire ABN Gang, working side by side with City officials in the hot Houston sun to get relief to those in need as quickly as possible. This was no time to stand on ceremony and everyone was on hand to pitch in where ever their help was needed most.
Trae Tha Truth, who has worked tirelessly since Sunday and Councilman Peter Brown helping out at the Amobi Okoye Foundation POD
No chains, no grill, just a love for his city. Trae Tha Truth putting it down.
Chamillionaire, ice in hand, surveys the staggering lines.
Trae and Chamillionaire receive instructions from a National Guardsman.
Coming out minus the usual rap trappings of bling, the radio personalities and rappers that pitched in lifted the heavy ice bags and cases of water into peoples trucks from sun up to sun down or for as long as the supplies lasted at their POD. Right now, with over a million still without power, the only beef in Houston is in the MRE's.
Continuing with the relief efforts, tomorrow, Saturday September 20th, Houston Rockets Ron Artest and Rafer Alston, the Monica Lamb Foundation, Kroger supermarket chain and radio stations 97.9 The Box, Majic 102.1 andPraise 92.1 will team up; handing out much needed items such as water, ice, food, batteries, baby formula, diapers, toiletries and gas cards. Please help pass this information to someone you know that needs these items. Media presence is most welcome.
Location - Sunnyside Multi-ServiceCenter, 4605 Wilmington Street @ Cullen, Houston, TX 77051 (713) 732.5030
Time - 10AM til 2PM (or while supplies last)
FEMA will also be on site to help people with information regarding the assistance programs that are available to those affected by this tragedy.

SIRIUS AND XM ARE NOW 1 Company!!!

Sirius, XM merger completed, creating US satellite radio giant
1 day ago
WASHINGTON (AFP) — US satellite radio giants Sirius and XM completed their merger Tuesday after winning a lengthy battle with regulators over concerns about market competition.
The new company formed by Sirius Satellite Radio's buyout of XM Satellite Radio, will be called Sirius XM Radio Inc.
The combined company has more than 18.5 million subscribers, making it the second-largest radio company, based upon revenue, in the country.
But the company has "significant" growth prospects because it currently has cornered less than 10 percent of the home and car market, it said.
"We have worked diligently to close this transaction and we look forward to integrating our best-in-class management teams and operations so we can begin delivering on our promise of more choices and lower prices for subscribers," chief executive Mel Karmazin said in a statement.
The Federal Communications Commission approved in a 3-2 vote Friday all-stock buyout of XM, ending some 16 months of regulatory limbo for the nation's only satellite radio companies.
Company executives have long argued that the merger would lead to major cost savings and the first-ever profits in the fledgling industry.
Some critics of the deal had argued that a combined satellite group would form a monopoly that would benefit from sharing the same broadcast stars and could bring an end to bidding wars for top talent.
The deal was approved by XM and Sirius shareholders last December, when Sirius had more than 8.3 million subscribers compared with nine million for XM.
The new company broadcasts more than 300 channels of programming, including exclusive radio broadcasts from shock-jock Howard Stern, television magnate Oprah and home-decorating guru Martha Stewart.
The FCC approval marked the final regulatory hurdle needed for the merger, which passed antitrust scrutiny by the Justice Department in March.
When the companies first began publicly discussing the merger, in February 2007, the deal was valued at 13 billion dollars.
Sirius XM Radio shares plunged 19.68 percent to 1.51 dollars in opening trade Tuesday.
